Base of Reverse Osmosis

This write up is aimed towards people who have little or no knowledge of Reverse Osmosis. It will attempt to describe the basics of this system in simple terms that should leave the audience with a larger overall understanding of RO system and its technology and applications.

Reverse Osmosis is a course of action or process also common as hyper filtration. It processes water by decreasing the fragments to the molecular level, which forms clean water. The filters used in RO decrease the saline level and other water contaminants, resulting in production of high quality pure water.

Almost all of the reverse osmosis systems perform in the similar way. Nevertheless, their functioning can be influenced by a number of factors. It includes the pressure of incoming water, the characteristics of filters and permeable membranes, temperature of water and the nature and amount of TDS (total dissolved solids).

The reverse osmosis system can be employed by pushing the water coming from a tap through a thin skin called membrane and then from a filter. There can be a series of membranes and filters. The thin skin or membrane permits only water to pass through, leaving behind the contaminants and impurities. These contaminants and impurities then flushed down the drain. The fresh, clean and pure water is then supplied to a water holding tank for your use.

After having a quick idea of working of the reverse osmosis system, let’s have a closer look at the steps it includes:

Pre filtration

Towards the inside of the RO system, the water flows through a pre filter. This filter prevents blockage of the membrane with fragments. At this juncture bigger particles are filtered out. Silt, plaque or corrosions, and other larger components are driven out. This step helps to prolong the life of RO membrane, so that it can block the smaller contaminants.

Various RO systems also comprise of activated carbon in the pre filter. The permeable activated carbon eradicates chlorine fragments and other water pollutants.

In the next phase, the water passes through the membrane, which is the center of any RO system. The contaminants that are too tiny to be filtered by the pre filter are confiscated here. These contaminants are then washed out through the drain. The membrane contains microscopic pores. These pores allow Oxygen and Hydrogen molecules to pass through. So the water passes through, while the disbanded solids are flushed out.

The ultimate phase. After passing through the membrane, the water comes to the stocking tank. The final phase of filtration occurs when you turn on the spout to draw out the water from stocking container. The system also features an automatic shut-off, hence until you turn on the spout, the water will remain in the container. The final purifying stage comprises of a carbon filter that eradicates any residual tastes and smells. The absolute result is fresh, clean and pure water.

Home Reverse Osmosis System

You can protect your family from drinking lead contaminated water by installing a good home reverse osmosis system. Look for a system that contains a carbon filtration. Such kind of systems can reduce or remove lead from water hence reducing the risk linked to lead exposure. Lead exposure can cause kidneys to malfunction, high blood pressure and associated diseases and increased risk of cardiovascular disorders.

Industrial Reverse Osmosis Water System

There are various custom designed systems available in the market to treat the industrial wastewater. The most vital factor in this process is the pretreatment, which protects the membrane against gradual contamination caused by minerals and chemicals. There are companies that evaluates pH factor, oxidizing potential and tendency of soluble salts to concentrate that exceeds the limits of RO system. Look for the appropriate one that suits your needs.

What is Alkaline Water

When you care about your health, water is sort of a big factor to consider. In reality, no other substance is as important for our health as a sip of healthy water. So if you are drinking water time and again, you are already doing something good for your wellbeing.

But you may have heard about that Alkaline water is even better. Alkaline water is less acidic than pat water. Let’s research whether alkalized water is really good for fitness and health or not.

Alkaline water is rich in compounds that alkalize, for example, bicarbonate and magnesium, silica, calcium, potassium.

Out of a lot some people claim that a higher pH diet inclusive of alkaline water can aid your body defend acidity, which eventually can bring about better fitness and health. A small number of research reviews also support these sorts of claims.

However, some others have a different view point and they are still very skeptical.

Now the question arises is it wise to buy specially treated water to get the so called health benefits? Or alkaline water is just a hoax like other questionable diet trends up in the market, for example, juice detoxes.

Sounds interesting? Read on to find whether alkaline water is sip worthy?

Do we even need to be “alkalized”?

“Alkaline” has virtually become a slogan in health groups nowadays. But the impression that every Tom, Dick and Harry needs to “alkalize” is looking just a generalization of an idea.

Actually the basic concept behind using alkaline water is this: Tap water consists of various dissolved elements that manipulate its pH level. Clean water (pure H2O) has a pH level near enough to 7. Alkaline water has a pH level that is above 7. Hence the objective is that to bring about a bit more alkaline balance in your body, you need to drink water with a higher pH level.

But there are some snags with this concept.

pH level

“pH means Power of hydrogen, that is a measurement of the hydrogen ion concentration. PH scale level from 1 to 14, with 7 considered to be neutral. A pH less than 7 is called to be acidic and a pH greater than 7 are Alkaline”

At the first place, nature has created our each organ system with a unique pH range, and our bodies naturally do an amazing job for maintaining blood pH within each individual range.

Secondly but important, check your pH level. If it is out of balance, it would be wise to get to the underlying reason. Without identifying the reason, you cannot conclude whether alkalized water would really help you in improving your health, because just focusing on the pH level of water is sort of unawareness about the real cause of deficiency. It may be helpful just because of the minerals rather than pH level.

Beware that overall body alkalinity is not a good thing always. If someone has a kidney disorders or someone is taking medications that alter kidney functions, some of the minerals in alkalized water may continue to deposit in the body. In such cases, high alkalinity could lead to negative side effects rather than be helpful.

Also keep in mind that targeting the real cause of the core issue by getting to the bottom of it is a wise choice to implement rather than just focusing on symptoms.

Claims of Alkaline Water Benefits

The source of water influences the pH level of all water. Water experts state that spring water or natural water has a pH level that falls in the sphere of acidic water. A number of people advocate that by drinking alkaline water we will get help in neutralizing acid in the bloodstream. This eventually leads to increased level of oxygen, energy and metabolism.

Let’s take a quick view of the alkaline water benefits.

Alkaline Water Benefit – Antioxidant Properties

Antioxidants counteract with free radicals. Free radicals are one of the major causes that bring pre-mature aging and a number of types of health conditions, including cancer. In alkaline water antioxidants are in liquid form and absorb quickly into the system. So we can say that one of the Alkaline water benefits is that it has anti-aging and anti-diseases significance. A number of experts also believe that drinking alkaline water may aid in developing resistance against cancer.

Cleansing Features

Amongst various other benefits of Alkaline water one is that it helps to cleanse the body organs, particularly the colons. Various people among us do not even know that if this unclean buildup in the colon continues, they are susceptible to get it poisonous or in some cases lethal. Regular usage of alkaline water is not only safe but it easily removes this fecal material. It helps to remove weeks or even years old build up in the colons and therefore, leads to a more effective and thorough process of elimination. This also helps to decrease the recurrence of constipation and other related unhealthy issues. As you enjoy the Alkaline water benefits by drinking it on regular basis (daily) and keep your inner systems cleansed and in good working condition, you make yourself less prone to ailments like stomach issues, colds, flus and other fairly common illnesses.

Physical Appearance Gains

One of the advantages of using alkaline water is that it not only rejuvenates your skin but also keeps it hydrated along with cleansing the inner systems of your body. It also aids your skin to keep its elasticity and overall health by providing strength in the process of tissue replacement. This leads to smoother and detoxified, younger looking skin with fewer breakouts. This gives you a more youthful look.

Water that is alkaline also helps in gaining your weight loss goals as it breakdowns fatty essentials in food.

Additional Health Benefits

Additional health benefits of regular use of water that is alkaline are that it lubricates muscles and joints, as well, to support stopping injuries. This also helps, especially athletes, who are likely to get sprains or old age people who may suffer from arthritis. It also prevents dehydration in your body. Dehydration can be harmful for organs such as the heart and kidneys to work harder. Body organs that are clean and do not possess unnecessary buildups do not have to function hard as compared to those which are unclean. The unclean organs need to expend more energy to maintain functionality. So, next time look for a bottle of Alkaline water instead of a regular H2O pack.
